“Dear Andrea –
I’ve made a bunch of new manikins, but one especially I wanted to show you. The inspiration came from the picture of a tree in Golden Gate Park, two trees really, taken by my amateur photographer friend William, who scours the SF streets for great shots. This is the tree”:
“Now of course you can see the red tree trunk in the back, being tickled in the privates by the evergreen in the front, yes? So this is what I did out of it, called ‘The Serpent Brings Dessert'”:
“I sent it to William, but he didn’t get it. (Do you?) So, I wrote this bit of nonsense in explanation:
“The serpent slithers sensuously, lightly stroking Eve’s curves, offering apples for her pleasure, introducing fire and the shimmering brightness which lights her core.
“I see, by optical illusion, the river red trunk of the wondrous tree, caressed by the wrapped arms of the evergreen, fingers penetrating the deepest recesses, the original fall by means of fruit expressed through the trees themselves. But to see it on the little manikin, well, you probably have to hold it in your hands to feel the effect of these pearly green strings curling around the limbs, intimately offering up iconic luscious fruit.”
Really, I feel like we shouldn’t be watching those two trees, but it serves them right for doing it in public, right out there in Golden Gate Park. Maybe I went too far with the manikin, I’m sure I went too far with the explanation, but I just finished my 2021 taxes and it left me a little dizzy.

“Honestly, you should sell the explanation alone.
